Now that the summer is winding down and schools will be starting in a few days, why not use these last moments of freedom to do something for your community?! During August and other hot times of the year it’s especially important to encourage Fire Safety and Prevention. Here’s a great fire prevention project you can try:
After a Fire: When there’s a fire in your neighborhood, you and your neighbors have a heightened awareness about fire safety. Get fire safety information out to people as soon as possible! You can make a big difference in your community just by handing out brochures. To add a special connection clip an article from your local newspaper about a recent fire and attach it to the brochures you’re handing out. You can request brochures from your local chapter or download them from www.redcross.org. Don’t forget to wear your Red Cross T-shirt while handing out brochures.
Watch for more project ideas in the coming weeks!
