Santa Monica Chapter Conducts Blood Drive at Santa Monica High School

The American Red Cross of Santa Monica (Calif.) conducted a blood drive at Santa Monica High School, the first time in years because a competing blood service had been previously collecting blood on campus. Through the efforts of members of the chapter’s Board of Directors (associated with the school district) and Red Cross Biomedical Services, the drive exceeded the seventy donors hoped for. Donors were entered into a drawing to win a $500 shopping spree and received coupons to Cold Stone Creamery. The event was promoted on campus, on-line PTA and school support bulletin boards, local cable TV and local newspapers.
