David Lindsey, a high school student, set out to achieve an Eagle Scout badge by pulling the community together and compiling 100 quality comfort kits for the North Central West Virginia Chapter (Fairmont). Local school students donated used backpacks; several businesses, schools, churches and a hospital helped gather supplies; and a grant from an area foundation funded the rest. Friends, neighbors, members of his church and his scout troop worked together to assemble the kits to be donated to the chapter. David received his Eagle Scout badge on January 15, 2008.
