Have you ever received a holiday card from someone that was special? Maybe you kept it or passed it around the table at dinner that night; however, inside of you, that card no doubt made you feel better about yourself and let you know that someone out there cares about you. Over recent weeks, American Red Cross volunteers of all ages contributed to a campaign called Holiday Mail for Heroes. The campaign collected mail from people across the country wishing to spread the holiday cheer, sorted the mail, and sent it off to American service members, veterans, and military families across the country and throughout the world. Youth and young adult volunteers contributed in many ways to the thousands of cards and letters sent! Two of those volunteers were Tre Cox and Mathew Oclander for whom this campaign had a lot of personal significance. Please visit their story here – I think you’ll like it.
