Hello everyone!
Today, I would like to tell you something about myself. As a college freshman, I have experienced dramatic changes in my life, and this not only includes moving from the West Coast to the East Coast, but adjusting to a completely new lifestyle. While I have been able to meet new friends and each one of them has been a blessing to me, there is always something I feel has been missing from my life, and I realized it a couple of days ago when I was having a conversation with some old high school friends. That one thing is the American Red Cross. While there is a club here on campus, I have found out that I truly miss the people I met in my high school’s American Red Cross Club. With many of them still in high school, I can’t wait to share my stories with them because not only are they my friends, but they have also become my brothers and sisters. We have spent numerous hours with each other, sharing of an important part of ourselves with each other.
Unfortunately, it is very likely that I will not be spending my summer at home on the West Coast so I’ve decided that instead, I will be heading back home during spring break. With that in mind, I have made a promise to myself. I will go back to my club and volunteer with them, while spending some quality time with those who I care about and love. I felt as if I didn’t spend enough time with them before I left for school and I will use this opportunity to achieve everything that I missed. American Red Cross of Gretchen Whitney High School, here I come!
