April 22nd, 2010 is Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day Red Crossers! Coincidentally this year, Earth Day falls right in the middle of National Volunteer Week. What better way to get involved in your community or with your local Red Cross Chapter by celebrating the Earth and volunteering at the same time?

The Red Cross youth at my local chapter team up with my city’s Recreation and Parks Department and man the Red Cross booth at the annual Earth Day fair. At the fair, youth volunteers sell disaster kits and teach younger children about using recyclable, sustainable materials in everyday life, even when building disaster kits. What do you do to get involved during Earth Day?

This year, the American Red Cross is honoring Earth Day by offering 10% off the Red Cross organic tee (pictured below). Just use the coupon code FACEBOOK during checkout to get the awesome tee. Go Green, celebrate Earth Day, and support the American Red Cross!
