Hey Red Cross Youth!
Would you know what to do if a major natural disaster occurred while you were at school? You probably have a lot of the emergency supplies that should go in a disaster preparedness kit in your house, but what about at school? In particular, college students might live far away from home and have nowhere else to go. What would you do? Would you be prepared? Consider asking your school’s administration what they are doing to be prepared for emergencies, teaching your fellow classmates how to be Red Cross Ready, and/or getting a preparedness kit for yourself today!

I am an Intern at the Tallahassee Chapter in Florida. A group of our Emergency Response Interns came up with a great project they will execute for the fall semester! They are raising money to build disaster preparedness kits for college students. They will distribute the kits at local bookstores for purchase. They will also promote the kits during our school’s Market Wednesdays, a great opportunity for campus clubs and local organizations to practice community outreach and advertise upcoming events for students!
