Save the Date so YOU can save a life!

This Saturday, on March 19, 2011 the American Red Cross will host the Gabrielle Giffords Honorary Save-a-Life Saturday. Usually known as CPR Saturday in some American Red Cross chapters, over 100 locations across the nation will offer free hands-only CPR classes on this day. The classes will be shortened versions of Red Cross training courses, lasting approximately 45 minutes to one hour and offered multiple times during the day.

The courses, which normally cost $25, are being offered free of charge for this event through the generosity of corporate sponsors, Safeway and Walgreens.

Visit the Save the Date to Save a Life! page on www.redcross.org for class locations and times, and much more information. A map of the countrywide event can also be found on the website. Get CPR trained this weekend for free and then come back and tell us about it in the comments section of this post!
