International Opportunity: The 7th Youth Gathering of the Indonesian Red Cross
Are you interested in meeting Red Cross youth from other international societies? On the 3-10th of July, the Indonesian Red Cross will be hosting their annual Youth Gathering in Gorontalo Indonesia, and we were invited to send up to 6 youth delegates to attend. The youth meeting offers the opportunity to do the following:
• Connect with youth volunteers from other national societies, share ideas, experiences, and culture.
• Foster partnership between the Indonesian Red Cross youth and other international members.
• Participate in a wide variety of learning and networking activities.
The trip is self-funded, so interested youth will need to fundraise to cover their expenses. The estimated cost is approximately $2,000. If interested, you must complete the following by Monday, May 8th at 5PM EST:
- Write a one or two paragraph statement summarizing your Red Cross experience and a quick statement of why you are interested in this opportunity.
- Email this paragraph National Youth Council Outreach Officer Joe Gibson at jwgibson.nyc@gmail.com.
On May 10th 2011, interested persons will be notified by email that they have been accepted as a delegate, and are responsible for their own fundraising at that point. Further required documentation and information will be communicated at that point. Also, we recommend that you start fundraising right away, as the meeting is only a few months away.
