Gaining Membership for Your Red Cross Club

September 12, 2011

Hello Red Cross Youth!

Welcome to a new week and to the second installment of our September/October Series. As previously mentioned, this series was created in response to the resource needs we heard expressed by you, youth in the field. The articles will address such topics as how to start an American Red Cross club, gain club visibility on campus, and retain membership in your club. If there are other topics you would like to see addressed through this series, please email me and let me know!

Today’s article focuses on how to gain membership for your Red Cross club. Jeffrey Su, a member of the National Youth Council, discusses the critical factors you must consider as you appeal to your peers to join your club. Jeff is a junior at the University of Southern California, where he is majoring in architecture. His American Red Cross experience reaches back to his freshman year in high school when he first joined his high school’s ARC club. By junior year he was on the executive board and by senior year he was serving his club as president. While president, his club reached an impressive 110 members! Among his other accomplishments, Jeffrey also helped restart the ARC club at the University of Southern California. Watch as Jeff discusses how to gain membership for your ARC club below.
