The interns are matched with a specific department at national headquarters, giving them the opportunity to work on critical projects for their respective units, receive professional development training, and meet with members of the Red Cross leadership team.The overall aim of the program is to attract a pool of diverse, skilled, enthusiastic young professionals and provide them with an opportunity to build a long-term, substantive relationship with the American Red Cross. You will also gain substantive professional experience as well as exposure to critical issues pertaining to the nonprofit sector, develop a comprehensive perspective on the American Red Cross mission and service delivery at the local, national and international level, and have many opportunities for networking, personal and professional development opportunities, including the chance to meet with Red Cross senior leadership.
