From Red Cross Club to Over 30 Years Later…

From www.RedCross.org:

July 9, 2012

I went to grammar school in San Francisco during the early and mid 1960s. My school had an after school Red Cross Club, hosted by one of our teachers. I loved being involved in that club. I learned about the Red Cross programs and the teacher had us participating in various activities. Bottom line, I learned that the Red Cross did good things that helped our community and I wanted to be a part of it. When I got older I choose to help my community by being a regular blood and Apheresis donor. I have participated for over 30 years. When I retire, I hope to be able to volunteer in other ways. The Red Cross is where I put my community service and it all started by being introduced to the organization in school.
