Meet Michelle Carney!

Michelle Carney is a third-year student at University of California Berkeley, and she is also the president-elect of her school’s Red Cross Club. She has been working closely with the American Red Cross Bay Area chapter (ARCBA) for many years, and recently was deployed to help Superstorm Sandy victims in New York. In addition to Michelle, 100 volunteers have been dispatched from the ARCBA.

Michelle is the first Red Cross club member that the ARCBA has dispatched, so she is a very special volunteer. She not only chose to help Sandy victims in New York, but she chose to do it over the holidays. Michelle’s job is to help with feeding the victims, and is working with the Greater New York Red Cross.

This is not Michelle’s first Red Cross experience. She has helped with many fundraisers, including those for natural disasters in Japan, Pakistan, and Haiti. She also helps to organize blood drives on UC Berkeley’s campus.

Michelle is also involved with the National Collegiate Assembly.

Way to go, Michelle!
