Get Youth Involved with Oklahoma Tornado Relief

Our thoughts go out to everyone affected by today’s severe weather. The American Red Cross is mobilizing relief now. As a youth volunteer, you can help by sharing verified information, staying safe and being prepared, and fundraising for disaster relief.

Our thoughts are with the people of Moore, Oklahoma tonight. The Red Cross is moving equipment, people, and supplies for a major relief effort. Please make a donation to support the American Red Cross so we can respond to this and other disasters at www.redcross.org/donate or text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10 to our Disaster Relief Fund.

Take the Pledge to be prepared, and get the tornado app if you don’t already have it; call, text or share this with a loved one who may be affected today; and review our tornado tips here: http://www.redcross.org/prepare/disaster/tornado.

As a youth volunteer, you can also find a list of activities your Red Cross club or chapter can do here. One great activity is a Prepare and Share Kit Drive, which will help your family, peers, and neighbors be prepared for disasters and emergencies.

Check for live updates on Red Cross relief efforts here at @redcrossokc, facebook.com/AmericanRedCrossOklahoma, and www.RedCross.org.

Please share this post with your fellow Youth Volunteers and your Facebook friends. Join the discussion on our new Facebook Group, American Red Cross Youth Network, here!

As more information comes to light, we will continue to give updates on the situation and how the American Red Cross is responding, and how youth can get involved to help.
