Calling all College Seniors!

Just because you’re graduating, it doesn’t mean that your service with the Red Cross has to end. It’s only just begun! We want you to be a Red Crosser for life!

As you move to the next stage in life, we want to help you to keep volunteering through the Red Cross, regardless of where you may be or how your commitments change.

  • If you’re staying in your current area, we’d love to keep you on board! All we need is for you to make sure your contact information is up-to-date in Volunteer Connection. Log into Volunteer Connection today!

  • If you’re moving out of the area, we can help you connect with the Red Cross chapter in your new city or town. The American Red Cross has chapters across the country, so no matter where you go, there will be a Red Cross waiting for you! Simply let your chapter know you’re moving, and they can introduce you to your new home chapter and help make sure your certifications and other information is transferred in Volunteer Connection.

Check out this letter from the National Young Professionals Council about how you can stay involved after college no matter where you are headed. There are lots of amazing opportunities for engagement with the Red Cross as you start a new chapter in life.  Click here to learn more about how you can continue your involvement after graduation.

As you head out to the working world we encourage you to join or start a local Red Cross Young Professionals Group! Red Cross Young Professionals Group’s are assemblies of dedicated volunteers who support the Red Cross mission. They build awareness for the Red Cross among young, civic-minded philanthropists, promoting opportunities for fundraising as well as service delivery, like disaster relief, blood services, and preparedness education. People from all industries and backgrounds and with differing levels of Red Cross experience join Young Professionals groups because of a common interest in the mission of the Red Cross. It’s a great way to network and make professional connections while supporting the Red Cross. If there isn’t a Red Cross Young Professionals group in your area, you can start a group with the help of the local chapter. A toolkit for how to start a Young Professionals Group is available here.

Again, congratulations on this accomplishment! Volunteers like you are the heart of the Red Cross, and we want to help you find ways to continue to make a difference. We extend you all our best wishes as you graduate from college, and we look forward to helping you continue your Red Cross volunteering wherever life takes you next!
