November is National Youth Involvement Month

National Youth Involvement Month or NYIM is an annual American Red Cross initiative that aims to motivate and recognize our amazing youth volunteers across the country! Throughout the month of November, the National Youth Council will be celebrating the achievements of volunteers through our communications mediums, which include RedCrossYouth.org and the American Red Cross Youth Network Facebook group. As a participant, you will have the opportunity to:

  1. Receive national recognition for your club activities!
  1. Inspire other youth volunteers through your service.
  1. Highlight your club to the National Youth Council which can help volunteers when they apply to Red Cross programs such as field ambassadors or the Navin Narayan Scholarship.

This year’s NYIM theme is “Race of the Regions,” as we are inviting youth to engage in a nationwide competition to see which Red Cross region has the most youth involvement! To participate in Race of the Regions, please follow the steps below:

  1. Register(link) for NYIM! This lets us know that you are participating and allows us to send you updates.
  2. Start planning events for November! If you need ideas, check out ouractivity guides or reach out to members of the National Youth Council.
  3. After completing your events, post photos in the American Red Cross Youth Network Facebook page with the hashtags#NYIMand #RaceoftheRegions to show us the great work that you are doing. Or you can email stories or pictures to [email protected]Remember to include what region you are from!
  4. Every submission from a volunteer will count as one “point” for that region. At the end of November, the region with the most points wins!

No volunteer event is too small or insignificant to post; your service matters! Tell your friends about NYIM! Registration link is here.

Have fun and good luck with NYIM! Feel free to email [email protected] with any questions or concerns.
