Involvement Month 2009

November is National Youth Involvement Month!

As many of you know, each November the American Red Cross celebrates the incredible work that all of you do for the organization.  Nationally, youth volunteers do everything!  We respond to disasters, give blood, teach preparedness classes, raise funds for international relief and support our troops.

Traditionally during NYIM, we highlight stories from around the country about the awesome things youth volunteers have done during the past year.  This year we are doing things differently.

We know youth are amazing, it’s a fact.  If you are under 24 years old you should give yourself a high five! That being said though,  we are not going to just sit back and simply listen to how awesome we are. We are Red Cross volunteers and we always keep going, continuing to change the world.  In recognition and celebration of this, the National Youth Council is setting out challenges each week for your Red Cross school club or youth group to accomplish during NYIM 2009.

Click on each week to learn about the challenges!

Week 1: Get Connected

Week 2: Build your Red Cross school club/youth group

Week 3: Get up and act

Week 4: Share with the world

To bring the entire month together and celebrate youth involvement across the country we have we have put together the 2009 National Youth Involvement Month Photo Contest!  Click below for rules and prizes!
