2009 National Youth Involvement Month Photo Contest
This year’s National Youth Involvement Month team is incredibly excited to introduce the 2009 NYIM photo contest!
You already know that each week during November the National Youth Council is challenging you to complete at least one task. We would also like to see you in action! So we are asking to see photos of you performing the tasks!
Now we are not saying that you should just take any old photo. We want you to think out of the box and make it interesting! For example, during week 1, instead of taking a photo of someone’s hand clicking a mouse to signup for the YouthWire, what about getting that same person to do a double back flip while holding a laptop and signing up!? Ok, a little extreme, but you understand, have fun with it! We will have 3 winning photos at the end of the month.
Prize:
- A large American Red Cross fleece blanket and Red Cross metal canteen
- National letter of recognition sent to local unit
- Blanket and water bottle will be sent to each participant in the 3 winning photos. (4 participants/entry ; 3 people in photo max + photographer)
Requirements:
- You can only submit 3 photos max, you may submit less. Each photo is to capture you clearly performing any challenge from the first 3 weeks of National Youth Involvement Month 2009. For a full list of all the challenges each week visit: http://redcrossyouth.org/nyim-2009/
- All photos must be submitted twice:
- You must submit your photo to Flickr, in the group: http://www.flickr.com/groups/nyim/ (you will need to create an account if you don’t already have one)
- You must also send the photo to QuintanaE@usa.redcross.org with a photo release form for each person in the photo. (This is to ensure that we can use the photo after the contest and parents are aware of what is going on). If you do not send the photo and release form we will have to take the photo off the Flickr account.
- All photos must include the Red Cross insignia. Make sure to have the Red Cross symbol visible and in accordance with the brand guidelines.
- Photos must be in good taste (PG)
- Each photo must include at least one youth under the age of 24 and no more than 3 people in total (3 people in photo max + photographer)
- Photos that have been digitally altered beyond standard optimization will be disqualified. Acceptable are adjustments to color, contrast, brightness and sharpness; removal of dust and scratches; cropping; black and white conversions (no crazy photoshopping)
- All photos must be submitted by or on December 1st, 2009
