March is Red Cross Month & Giving Day Communications Toolkit

Your one-stop shop for MIRCM & Giving Day media resources! 

This Red Cross Month, we’re focused on celebrating the everyday heroes that carry out our mission, highlighting different themes each week. We’re also concluding the month in a big way with Giving Day on March 27.

This RCYO landing page will be your go-to source for campaign resources and information. Content will be added on an on-going basis.

Here’s how you can support these efforts regionally:

Campaign Schedule

Starting March 1: It’s Red Cross Month!

  1. Change your Facebook and Twitter cover photos to kick off Red Cross Month – assets are available below.
  2. Post a Giving Day “Save the Date” and share Giving Day countdown content once a week leading up to Giving Day. Make sure all Giving Day content uses the hashtag #help1family for tracking purposes.
  3. Join our Social Ambassador Program and encourage fellow volunteers to join as well. This platform will provide campaign content throughout March that you can share on your personal social accounts. Contact your local chapter for help in getting involved.

Throughout the Month

  1. Post Photos with Cutout Clara: Take Cutout Clara to Red Cross Month events and use her to showcase the work of everyday heroes across our lines of service.
  2. National Facebook Photo Album: We want to share your local Red Cross Month activities. We’ll have a Red Cross Month album we continually update throughout the month with your building lightings, Cutout Clara photos and other noteworthy and unique ways you’re celebrating locally. You must be registered in Volunteer Connection and have sent in your Parental Consent & Photo Release documents to send your best photos to [email protected].
  3. Giving Day: Make sure you’re incorporating Giving Day messages into your content schedule at least once a week with the hashtag #help1family.

Starting Monday, March 26: Week of Giving Day

  1. Change to Giving Day specific cover photos on Twitter and Facebook
  2. Selfie Sign: Collect photos of you and your club with the sign. Bring them to events you’ll be hosting this month and ask your selfie sign participants to post them on their personal pages as well.
