    Hello,
My station chair, Sue Harmon, at the ARC Fort Carson station, forwarded a pamplet regarding the upcoming NYI youth meeting on June 1st in St. Louis. Can I please get more information on which hotel we would be at and where the meetings occur?
Any information would be much appreciated!
    Sincerely,
    Lona M. Mayfield

    Hi Lona,
I’m Chris Chen, a member of the ARC National Youth Council. The reason the information wasn’t up in the initial post is because the hotel contract was just finalized. The conference will be held at the DoubleTree in St. Louis. Housing will be there as well, unless you register late (in which case you’ll be put in an overflow hotel). Hotel accommodations will be taken care of for all participants upon registration.

The website will be launched within a few days, and that will have more comprehensive information about hotel and travel. I hope this helps! I hope to meet you at NYI!

    best,
    Chris

I am also in need of information for the conference. I’ve been in touch with Darren Foster several times (and I do feel awful for the constant nagging!). I have 2 students that really want to attend, but our district requires a minimum 6 weeks notice for an extended day/overnight trip. Fortunately, we were able to submit an agenda from last year’s conference that we found because the window for paperwork submission for May trips closed March 14. But, we really need to buy plane tickets, and I need to have costs for parents because many of our families don’t have excess money for club dues and things of this nature. The other thing we really need to know are the costs of the hotel for the night before the conference. Since we’re outside of DC, we have to come in Thursday night.

    Magi,

As stated on the NYI website the registration fee is $75 and it includes:

    Hotel accommodations for two nights
    All conference materials
Workshops (Friday, May 30, Saturday, May 31 & Sunday, June 1)
All meals and snacks (two continental breakfasts, two lunches, one reception and dinner)
Entrance into the Youth Ice Cream Social and Youth Dance (see Schedule for more details)
Networking opportunities with peers and professionals

If you plan on arriving in St. Louis on the 29th, the room rate will be the same: 94$ per night/double room. Please indicate in your registration form your arrival date and make sure to connect with Emily Farwig and ensure that you’ll have the rooms for your group available for an extra night.

    Hope it helps,
    Amelia
